This Saturday and Sunday, December 14 and 15, all dogs and cats at Montgomery County Animal Shelter will be available for adoption for $5 – and with hundreds of pets to choose from, you’ll be sure to find a furry friend to cuddle up with as temperatures drop. Doors open at 11:30 am.
But we didn’t come up with the idea ourselves: The Ellen Show, Furbo Dog Camera and the Humane Society of the US have set out to inspire America to give 101 dogs the gift of a furever home this holiday season and this weekend MCAS has set a goal of 101 pet adoptions (not just dogs though - dogs, cats, puppies OR kittens!) To make adoption that much sweeter, MCAS has partnered with the following companies to offer the reduced adoption fee and fun freebies:
- Petco Foundation is sponsoring the $5 adoptions - Furbo Dog Camera will send a free camera to all who adopt a dog this weekend - 24PetWatch will be upgrading the 101 adopters to a free Lifetime Protection Membership for their new pet’s microchip
So please help MCAS reach its goal of giving 101 pets their furever homes this weekend. Or, as Ellen DeGeneres says, “Adopt a Pet Right Meow!” And be sure to watch the pups MCAS will be livestreaming on ellentube.
MCAS is located at 8535 Hwy 242 in Conroe, TX. Adopted pets have been spayed or neutered, microchipped and vaccinated.

I can relate to going down a rabbit hole of research; I did something similar a few months ago when I was considering adopting a rabbit, and I learned an immense amount from various sources. It's fascinating how much goes into making such a wonderful decision.…

This is so well said, and adopting a pet is precisely as you describe it; it's a commitment that brings immense joy. Thinking about it, I keep coming back to what you said about the profound bond formed with a rescued animal. It truly is a different kind of connection than acquiring a pet in other ways https://www.treasury.tas.gov.au/liquor-and-gaming To put it another way, I feel much more confident and informed about the process of adopting after reading this excellent post; shout out for the clarity! Come to think of it, I admit I underestimated the preparation involved at first, and that was a mistake on my part. Along those lines, I'm really curious about the long-term adjustment period for older…
Wow, this is such a fantastic resource on pet adoption! It's truly remarkable to see how much the process of bringing a new animal into your home has evolved since I first considered it years ago. I remember the more traditional routes, and the accessibility and support now available are just incredible. Your point about the economic angle really resonates; it's so important to consider the long-term financial commitment involved, not just the initial adoption fee https://www.afp.gov.au/crimes/cybercrime I've always believed that a well-informed decision leads to the happiest outcomes for both the pet and the adopter. It's encouraging to see such a focus on making this a positive and sustainable experience. I’m especially glad you highlighted the practical steps involved,…
