The Montgomery County Animal Shelter teams up with Telemundo Houston/KTMD to host third annual pet a

The Montgomery County Animal Shelter (“MCAS”) is announcing that we will be joining with Telemundo Houston/KTMD in hosting NBCUniversal Owner Television Stations’ Clear the Shelters third annual nationwide pet adoption drive on Saturday, August 19th, from 11:00am to 5pm. MCAS will waive all pet adoption fees as part of the nationwide Clear the Shelters initiative that seeks to help families find and adopt homeless pets. All adoptable animals will have been vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, and be spayed or neutered. Since 2015, Clear the Shelters has resulted in more than 70,000 pet adoptions nationwide.

We are very much looking forward to this year’s Clear the Shelters. We are planning a great event. There will be a local food truck Sarge’s Burgers at the shelter along with other vendors such as VIP Petcare & Petco. VIP Petcare will have information and discounts for preventative veterinary services worth up to $200. Petco will have new pet parent starter guide with up to $450 in savings. We hope for a great response from the community to help Clear the Shelter. There is generally an increase in animal surrenders during the summer months, therefore we will have many great dogs and cats looking for forever homes.
