Great news! MCAS finished February with a 93.2% live release rate. Great job Montgomery County! Thank you to the staff, volunteers, fosters, and stakeholders who support the shelter! We could not do this without a community effort!

Here are some highlights:

Adoptions: 487

Transfers to rescue groups: 290

Trap/Neuter/Release: 66

Animals returned to their owner: 50

Animals euthanized: 65 (2.32 animals every day)

Animals died or lost in shelter care: 16

Intake: 873 (31.18 animals every day)

We have a Raccoon that comes out of the street drain during daylight hours and we are not sure if it’s healthy or not. We have small children playing in yards and we are concerned for them.
